If you happen to be in Berlin coming friday, then you shouldn’t miss Type on Tour. It is a collaboration project, between 6 selected bands/music projects and graphic/type designer Indre Klimaite (LT/NL). It aims to produce a special performance each, where typography and performance will come together in various ways. It is trying to explore how these very different subjects can evolve to a different quality, inspire each other, interact together and at the end, in some cases produce a symbiosis in between. Results of this process will be shown in the end concert of all bands together on September 30th at PANKE, Gerichtstrasse 23, Wedding, Berlin. Come and watch! 20:00 sharp! (vairāk…)

LADC šoreiz uz Rīgu uzaicinājuši dizaineri no aģentūras WE ARE BITCH. Seminārs notiek 15.oktobrī plkst. 11.00 Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskolas telpās.

Pēc skatītāju lūguma.. Turpmāk vairāk mēģināsim informēt par izglītības iespējam un konkursiem.
Latvijā šobrīd diemzēl nav iespējams apgūt burtniecību (typography). Tas diezgan uzkrītoši redzams arī darbos, kur reti kad cilvēki droši izmanto burtus. Tad lūk iespējaīsā laikā iegūt papildus zināšanas.
No 6. līdz 19 jūlijam Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading (UK) piedāvā nedēļu ilgus kursus, kuros koncentrētā veidā solās mācīt to pašu, ko MA Typeface Design kursā pasniedz pēdējos 10 gadus. Tas prieks maksā £1540. Vairāk info iekš PDF.

Dažādu iemeslu dēļ var gadīties, ka nepieciešams uzzināt fonta nosaukumu tekstam, kurš nav pieejams vektoros. Tad talkā var ņemt lielisko WhatTheFont, kurš, ja burti nav pārlieku mazi, sameklēs atbilstošo fonta nosaukumu. (vairāk…)
