There might be many reasons why modernism (often referred to as minimalism) has been so popular in the last decade, also in Latvia. Maybe it is safer to retreat to something we have a name for, maybe we are fed up with the digital nineties, maybe we lack structure and order in our lives, who knows… Certainly it’s not the only way to do design. That’s why we are happy to publish an interview with designers who have a slightly different idea on what design is and what the world should be like.
Pinar & Viola is a design duo based in Amsterdam.
